Forgiveness

"In answer to your inquiry, I consider that the chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell."
- Salvation Army's founder William Booth
Included in the list that Booth gives above, I believe that an often overlooked danger among Christians is that of unforgiveness or repentance from a bitter spirit.
I looked up the word "resentment" and found that many sources tracing back to the Latin give the origin of the word as "strangling" and "choking". I find that the one who resents is not so much putting his victim under a chokehold; rather he is choking himself.
Choking himself out of victory, happiness, and freedom.
Let's give the retribution rights back to God, and acknowledge Him as the True Judge of wrongful acts. In that light we will also see that He is ready to forgive us in full use of His mighty grace:
Mark 11:25: "And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.”
